This weekend, Caerphilly town welcomes the prestigious BBC Proms in the Park, and 5 lucky shoppers will be attending with a guest, courtesy of Castle Court Shopping Centre.

The sentiment amongst the winners was one of shock and delight. Technical Support Manager and winner Peter Hampton says of winning: “It doesn’t happen very often, it’s really quite nice. The Proms event is the kind of thing we like to spend our time doing.”

It was a double delight for Sharon Crowley, who has gifted her husband Neil with the other ticket: “We’ll have to find a babysitter, but it’s my husband’s birthday so that’s an extra present for him!”

The other winners included Tina Callaghan, a retired councillor from Bedwas, Lynda Brinkworth, a computer analyst from Waterloo, and Jim Brown from Caerphilly.

The shoppers won the tickets through Castle Court’s summer competition, and will join hundreds of other classical music lovers at Owain Glyndwr Playing Fields.

As well as enjoying a touch of classical music, Prom goers can embrace the street performers and music on-going throughout the town centre during the day.

Shoppers and Caerphilly residents should also to look out for Castle Court helpers who will be helping sign children up to the Castle Court Kids Club. Each new member will receive a free welcome pack.
